Volunteering and giving gaining traction among companies in Switzerland

As the snow starts falling over our mountains, it’s a sign that the joyous holiday season is just around the corner. A time for family, friends, gratitude and giving. But it’s not just us as individuals.

Business purpose: The tide is changing
In the corporate world, we’ve been seeing companies and their leaders embracing the notion of purpose and starting to instill this in the way they do business and in their people. From the Business Roundtable’s game-changing announcement, to the commitments made during UN Climate Week, and a number of announcements by pioneering companies, it’s clear that the tide is shifting – companies need to be a force for good, beyond profit.

More than Public Relations
As a B Corp, we know that this ideal is more than a simple PR exercise, but an authentic shift in the way business is conducted. Yes, it makes business sense, but it is also what society and our planet needs. Beyond sustainability, charitable giving of time, money and goods, is a powerful lever to engage employees and to act for the benefit of multiple stakeholders.

How to put it into practice?
But what does the situation look like today in Switzerland? How are companies putting this into practice and putting their purpose into action in their communities? How are they engaging their employees in volunteering and giving initiatives?

Corporate volunteering & giving in Switzerland
To help answer these questions, we’re happy to share the key findings from the first Swiss Survey on Corporate Volunteering and Giving. We undertook this survey to uncover the current situation in the market and – for the first time ever – offer a picture of corporate volunteering and giving in Switzerland.

The coming decades are pivotal. With the deadline for the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals approaching, companies and brands have the opportunity to send a clear message that they are a part of the solution.
